So, in such cases we use a new feature of Microsoft that is “Remote connection of Azure ExpressRoute via satellite”.
Azure ExpressRoute via Satellite
Hybrid networking between your data center and the Microsoft Azure cloud can now be connected via ExpressRoute using satellite connectivity. ExpressRoute provides a direct, private connection into Microsoft Azure that does not traverse through public Internet; so, it is secure.
Microsoft transmitted data over a standard satellite data connection from your site to the ground station, and then on to your selected Azure instances. So, it provides high performance and high availability for ExpressRoute via satellite.
Need to connect Azure ExpressRoute via Satellite?
Previously data center should be close enough to a connection provider to connect Azure ExpressRoute for hybrid cloud connectivity. Using satellite we can directly connect your data center anywhere in the world to Microsoft Azure. ExpressRoute over satellite creates new channels and reach for satellite broadband providers, through a growing base of enterprises, organizations and public sector customers.Some benefits are mention below:
1. Using satellite connectivity with ExpressRoute provides dedicated and highly available, private access directly to Azure and Azure Government clouds.
2. ExpressRoute provides predictable latency through well-connected ground stations, and, as always, maintains all traffic privately on our network – no traversing of the Internet.
3. ExpressRoute directly connects satellites to partners’ ground stations to global network using a dedicated private link.
4. ExpressRoute over satellite creates new channels and reach for satellite broadband providers, through a growing base of enterprises, organizations and public sector customers.
